A. DISRUPTORII ENDOCRINI

Substantele chimice functionand ca disruptori endocrini (EDCs) sunt substante sintetice sau naturale care afecteaza sistemele reproductiv, dezvoltare sau alte sisteme homeostatice prin interferenta cu sinteza, secretia, transportul, metabolismul si actiunea hormonilor endogeni. Multe astfel de substante afecteaza axa HPT si nivelele hormonilor tiroidieni, nu doar la nivelul receptorilor nucleari cum se credea initial, ci la nivelul intregului sistem: sinteza, transport, metabolism, excretie si chiar receptie prin receptorii din membrana celulara.

Cu cat expunerea la aceste substante se face mai devreme (uneori chiar in timpul vietii intrauterine a fatului), cu atat efectele acestor chimicale sunt mai daunatoare pentru functia tiroidiana si dezvoltarea zonelor critice influentate de aceasta (ex: organizarea functionala si diferentierea celulara la nivelul creierului. Din pacate disruptorii endocrini sunt persistenti in mediu, asa  incat sunt peste 14000 de toxine persistente active, desi au fost interzise in ultimii 25-30 de ani.

B. EXPUNEREA LA RADIATII SI FUNCTIA TIROIDIANA

Studiile efectuate au aratat urmatoarele:

  • expunerea cronica non-termica la microunde 2450MHz altereaza hormonii tiroidieni si reactivitatea emotionala (hiperactivitate, agresivitate) a animalelor iradiate cu nivele de joasa energie
  • studiu pe animale privind expunerea 30 min/zi, 5zile/saptamana, timp de 4 saptamani la radiatie de frecventa 900 MHz (telefonie mobila) care descreste nivelele TSH, T3 si T4
  • utilizarea telefoanelor celulare modifica nivelele TSH (↗) si T4 (↘) in functie de durata utilizarii (studiu pe 77 studenti)

Identificarea toxinelor aferente tesutului tiroidian reprezinta primul pas spre intelegerea reactiilor inflamatorii si/sau autoimune la  nivelul tiroidei ca raspuns inteligent la mediu, ceea ce permite o abordare terapeutica noua, neinvaziva a afectiunilor tiroidiene.
